ANGELMAKER | INGESTED | LARCENIA ROE
CANADIAN HERITAGE TOUR
LEE’S PALACE, TORONTO, ONTARIO
AUGUST 9TH, 2026
IMVGES & WYRDS: MILES GEORGE

THE SETUP…
August is traditionally the halfway point for summer, as in Canada it only exists for July and August; the time in the heat is limited. Angelmaker, deathcore experts representing Canada, brought not only the heat but also a slew of people out on a Sunday night to Lee’s Palace as part of the coast-to-coast Canadian Heritage tour promoted by Inertia Entertainment!

LARCENIA ROE
Having been to this venue more times than it’s worth mentioning in text, my entrance into the venue was met with concern, as there were additional speakers on stage than normal, and I was concerned because these additional speakers made the night’s performances extremely loud. Debuting in Toronto for the first time, from North Carolina, it took almost no time for the band to establish dominance from the elevated Lee’s Palace stage, which transferred to the venue floor, and instantly the crowd started moving in a crowd-killing frenzy. Those extra speakers did not do the band any favours; as they moved around the venue, the vocals were completely enveloped by the twin guitars and drums. These three musicians led an assault on the senses; even though I am not familiar with this band other than this interaction, everything was tight, consistent, and powerful. The banter in between songs was unique enough to provoke a laugh from me. The crowd was asked to help scream the vocalist’s favourite four-letter word, which he had to incorporate heavily into the song ‘Sandy Cheeks’, and to be loud and say FUCK after saying “I don’t give a…” Very good.
It may have been the band’s first visit not only to Toronto but to the country as a whole; they left a great impression even if it was a quick set akin to the subgenre. I hope to see them again with clearer vocals, and selfishly, a bassist would add a dynamic depth that a lot of bands opt out of doing digitally instead.
SETLIST
‘Precursor’, ‘Lean’, ‘Carolina Crowd Killer’, ‘Onlooker’, ‘Unhinged’, ‘Sandy Cheeks’, ‘Lullaby (Special)’, ‘Lip Split’

INGESTED
If the previous band had clarity issues from an audio standpoint, by the time England’s Ingested hit the stage, they were completely sorted. Still, the aural issue for this performance was the volume of the band playing. It didn’t take long, even with earplugs, for the music to start to rattle our brains from the inside out, sonically. Starting the set with the brand-new album Denigration, the first three songs brought the perfect blending of death metal with core; the crowd instantly switched gears to a mosh pit that lasted throughout the set. Although the band is down to three members and a touring member at the moment, it was incredible to see how cohesive this four-piece was on stage, including unison headbanging. Having seen this band multiple times over a decade through multiple billings and band members, Ingested, with this new music, left the venue and its audience wanting more after the intense middle-of-the-show proceedings. I can’t wait for Ingested to return as a headliner.
SETLIST
‘Merciless Reflection’, ‘Watch You Fold’, ‘Oaths Betrayed’, ‘Impending Dominance’, ‘Endgame’, ‘Nefarious Tongues’, ‘Altar Of Flesh’, ‘Skinned And Fucked’, ‘Invidious’

ANGELMAKER
Although Angelmaker is from the opposite end of this large country of ours, in my experience with the band, more often than not, the crowd that shows up is very passionate about Canada’s own leaders of the subgenre. I always get a chuckle out of a certain number of bands on stage for Lee’s; the band’s seven members made for a tight squeeze. All audio issues with the previous bands were completely fixed by the time this West Coast of Canada band hit the stage. The band’s dual vocals provided the balance and harmony of gutturals, screams, and singing effortlessly. The hat-trick triple attack of guitars as well was so well done together that, with the three members, it would be next to impossible to notice any of the three out of step with the others – just three guitarists shredding away. Special shout-out to Johnny, one of the guitarists. Normally this gets a bigger reaction, but when in Toronto we are graced with his Montreal Canadiens Patrick Roy 33 jersey, and I laugh every time.
The band, having recently released This Used to Be Heaven back in November 2025, is playing as a headliner for the first time since its release. They also included a nice mix of songs from their discography. The tag team of vocalists demanded circle pits, walls of death and moshing throughout the set. For close to an hour, a clinic in deathcore was put on, and this time by someone with roots in Canada. I can’t speak for everyone, but this coast-to-coast tour is impressive for anyone to accomplish, and Angelmaker is always welcome back to Toronto.
