KUN VALO MINUSSA KUOLI
NOBLE DEMON
NOVEMBER 28TH, 2025
REVIEWED BY: ANGELICA RAMIREZ
REVIEW SCORE: 8
Active since 2012, Kaunis Kuolematon from Finland presents their fifth album, Kun Valo Minussa Kuoli. Staying true to the Finnish melodic doom sound, this is the kind of band for fans of Swallow the Sun, October Tide, Paradise Lost, and Marianas Rest. Consisting of nine songs, this is one of those bands that prefers to keep their lyrics in their native language, which can be a big draw for people who enjoy listening to Finnish. With a good mix of growling and clean vocals, most of the album is quite melodic while still maintaining the music’s darker side.
This is one of those niche bands that deserves more attention, especially from listeners interested in the previously mentioned bands. Melancholic, emotional, and overall very well-rounded, it features passages of acoustic, doomy songs while still retaining elements of a slightly harder death-metal sound. As always, Finland continues to present us with high-quality bands forging their own path, and the genuineness of them all never ceases to amaze me.
